If that is true, the worst feeling is to love in vain. It is as close to despair as one can get. To truly love someone is to be vulnerable and completely exposed. The realization that your love is in vain is a soul crushing rejection. I have lived through this experience, having Annie Lennox’s cover of Bob Marley’s “Wait in Vain” as my own personal soundtrack over the last few years has been rough as hell.
